  From a young age, Astrid Magdalena found herself looking at life from a different angle, in search of genuine presence and emotion, while traveling back and forth from Germany to the United States. Instead of merely observing basic human interaction, she sought the deeper emotional content brewing beneath the surface. It would be those 'candid' moments that Astrid would find herself capturing.

 

  Fast forward a few years...

  Astrid began attending live concerts at a much younger age than most, and cultivated not only a great appreciation for music and artists, but also for what the whole experience meant to her: one of the very few times and places she could be present, living, reveling in a moment in which nothing else mattered.

​

  Middle school began and with that came disposable cameras and capturing those fleeting moments, awaiting, with great anticipation, which photos would reveal themselves as truly special. Concerts, parties, walks through the forest... all became things worth capturing.

​

  Unwilling to conform to anything defined as 'standard,' Astrid pursues only those raw present moments that, to most, go unnoticed. From urban candids to band photography, Ms. Magdalena captures it all on her own terms. Embracing technology has only provided her with more opportunity to highlight those very moments, individuals, and events.

  Having already had the opportunity to shoot such bands as Candlebox, 3 Doors Down, Our Lady Peace, Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, and Collective Soul, Astrid will continue to snatch souls across the world, ready to stop and place focus on anything and everything that catches her eye.
